At Bible study today we learned that God never wastes our pain. That in his infinite and loving wisdom, He is able to use our suffering for our own good. What a fantastic reminder - and oh, how I thought of my writing journey.
Today, a week or so before Thanksgiving, I am taking this opportunity to remind you (and me) to USE those rejections and disappointments for your benefit! Learn from them! Try to use the comments and the feedback you receive to make your book better! And if not your book, yourself!
And, if you come across a really hard to handle person, use that experience too! Remember that God never wastes these challenges. You are growing in character, and wisdom, and grace and you will be all the better for it!
Relax. It's all good.

Awesome reminder Katie!
God is working perfectly to cause all things to work for my good.
I like this post. You're absolutely right. Funny how agented authors sound so much smarter and calmer than those of us with the hives and bloodshot eyes from revising and query letter revisions.
Tamika!!!!!! You won the Karmic Kindle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And Ms. J, I had a complete meltdown yesterday and my OWN post had to speak to me. haha!
Great reminder of God's sovereignty and wisdom.
Recently I had some work fall through with one publisher which caused a bit of anxiety, and the next morning, I was offered a much better contract with another publisher to illustrate during that same time period. I love seeing God orchestrate things in my life.
Great post, Katie! And so true. And you're gonna nail this.
I love this post! Dude, you've GOT this.
P.S.
At LMJ's order...er...request, we've added some random pics to facebook for your enjoyment. And next week...the vlog! Good God, what are you guys doing to us?
Yay!! Vlog is forthcoming!
I can't believe Katie didn't win the Kindle. She wins everything!!!
Whew. Great post.

Yep. I really thought I had the ol' Kindle in the bag :-(
Very true. These can be lard lessons to learn and difficult trials to go through, but ultimately He is in charge and has a plan. Thanks for the words of inspiration.

Dear Katie,
Thank you for such an encouraging reminder. How nice to stumble upon this. Bless you and congrats. on your good news.
I love this post. What a great reminder of something that is far too easy to forget. With each "Thank you, but..." I continue to remind myself that unanswered prayers are some of God's best answers! :) You girls are great.
