A Perfect Ending

So the last night of the conference SF and I decided to go see Julie and Julia. And let me tell you, it was the PERFECT way to end the weekend. What an adorable movie! And who knew it had so much to do with publishing?! Bring tissues.

Afterwards, we decided we needed a hunk o' butter, or bread and cheese, but since we are lazy, we just slipped into Houstons for some spinach dip and a beer.

Now back at home, I am taking the week off and doing things like cooking and cleaning and reading Graeme's query. I also need to join Skype because my peeps out there want to see me in person when we chat :-) Fun, huh? Okay, how about everyone join and we can have a fun teleconference.

That's it!

Katie

Oh, Lisa and Laura were just talking about Skype. I'm going to have to look into that thing!

I avoided Twitter for so long and now there's Skype. When will it end?!

I agree with Sherrie! I'm holding out on Skype. For now.

And I really want to see this movie!

Skype kind of scares me. I mean, one of the greatest things about being a writer is getting to slob around in your glasses and big t-shirts. Right?

Loved seeing the movie with you. We've got to get cracking on that screenplay!!

So I realize I need to Skype, but I saw the feedback from my laptop when it films me and it is none too cute. I'll have to go to Fausto to get my hair blown out, put on some MAC and rock some gloss. I hope you Skypers give a two hour notice!

Glad you lovely ladies are back!

Oh wow, a "skype around the table," I didn't even think of that! Do you think the Skype people would come out and tell us that we can't drink alcoholic beverages on Skype's internet property?

I'm curious about this movie, since it's about a blogger and the book the movie was based on was written by a blogger. I don't think I'll be able to talk my boyfriend into going, though.

Tyler--we'll just tell them it's kool aid.

I don't plan to skype from my iphone, but I do think it would be fun to chat with y'all. Lila actually came up with it. And Graeme and I are gonna test drive it soon.

And SF, I plan to Skype in full pj's and zit cream. That's part of the fun.

I wanna see this movie. But I must ask one question. Does Amy Adams hair annoy you through the whole movie? or does it become unnoticeable?

I am so mean. But seriously, we've all had bad hair cuts and I don't think (from the previews) this one fits her as well as her longer hair.

The hair was definitely unfortunate.

At first, I thought she looked so cute and young . . . until I realized that she looked like a cute young BOY--someone who could play Peter Pan on Broadway, for example.

Throughout the movie, I did want to push her hair behind her ears, just to groove her up a little bit. But now I've decided that her hair went with her character and her wardrobe (checkerboard Van surfer shoes at one point), so in the end it wasn't totally distracting and somehow right.

Next year, we must not miss the KEYNOTE, okay!? I think you and I are the only ones not there.
