But is it still a book???

The Alice In Wonderland App for the Ipad. Check it:

The coolest thing ever, yes?

But, tell me this . . . when does it stop being a book and start being just another video game??? I love it, but do we call it a book?

I've been thinking this very same thing when I see the amazing iPad demonstrations. It's not really reading is it? I think that's one of the reasons that traditional paper books will never completely go away...

That's amazing. And beautiful. And I can totally see my kids wanting to "read" that kind of book. But I worry that turning books into entertainment will sour them on the simple pleasure of losing yourself to a white page with black letters...

HOLY CRAP THIS LOOKS AWESOME!!! Don't tempt me or I'll want it!!! It's just another world, I still like the traditional books but this would be a fun alternative!

I'm up in the air about this one. It is visually stunning, but does it leave any room for your imagination? Aren't we kind of stunting our kids when we deliver up imagination on a plate by way of some geeks who drink way too much Red Bull and likely have hacking names they use at night? Not only will kids be lazy physically, but now they don't have to exercise their mind either. The words will not dance over their heads and turn into pictures and images they create.

God, I sound old.
